What We Do
What is Polished Concrete?
Polished concrete is a multi-step mechanical process — we grind your existing concrete slab using progressively finer diamond tooling, apply a chemical densifier that hardens the slab from within, then polish it to your chosen gloss level. The result is the slab itself, refined — not a coating on top of it.
Unlike epoxy or tiles, there’s no membrane to delaminate, no grout lines to stain, and no surface to wear through. The floor improves with each pass of the machine and, done correctly, will outlast the building it’s in.
We do both residential and commercial — homes in Wollongong that want that open, architectural look, and commercial spaces that need a durable, easy-clean surface without the maintenance overhead of timber or carpet.
Free on-site assessment included
Not every slab suits every finish level. Gary inspects yours first, tells you what’s achievable and what it will cost — before any work starts. No surprises.

Why Choose It
Benefits of Polished Concrete
Lasts Decades
Polished concrete is the slab itself — no coating to peel, no surface to replace. A properly done job lasts 20–30+ years with minimal upkeep.
Zero Maintenance
Sweep and damp mop with a pH-neutral cleaner. No waxing, no buffing, no resealing every few years. Just a floor that stays looking good.
Hygienic
No fibres for allergens to hide in, no grout lines for bacteria. Better for families, pets, commercial food spaces and healthcare environments.
Non-Slip Sealed
We apply slip-resistant sealer to every residential job. Safe for bare feet, kids, and paws — without making the floor look industrial.
Fully Customisable
Matte, satin, semi-gloss or mirror-gloss. Expose the natural aggregate for a terrazzo look, or add colour dyes. Every slab is genuinely unique.
Uses Your Existing Slab
No new concrete needed. We assess your existing slab and work with what’s there — usually the best and most cost-effective option.
How It Works
Our Polished Concrete Process
Six steps, no shortcuts. Each one matters.
Slab Assessment
Gary inspects your concrete — checks for cracks, previous coatings, moisture and aggregate quality. This determines the best approach and what finish levels are achievable on your particular slab.
Coarse Grinding
Diamond-tipped tooling removes the surface layer, levels any high spots, removes existing coatings and opens the slab up. The grit progresses through multiple steps — coarser to finer.
Crack & Hole Repair
Any cracks or voids are filled with epoxy filler or slurry at the appropriate stage. Small imperfections become part of the character of the floor.
Densifier Application
A chemical densifier is applied mid-process. It reacts with the calcium in the concrete to form additional silica crystal, hardening the surface from the inside out — critical for a lasting polish.
Progressive Polishing
Finer and finer diamond tooling refines the surface to your chosen gloss level. Each pass removes the scratches from the previous one. No shortcuts — you get every step.
Sealer & Protection
A penetrating guard sealer is applied to protect against staining and moisture. Anti-slip additive included on all residential jobs. The floor is ready for use within 24 hours.
